Sustainable Practices

As reflected in our guiding statement, the Spring Festival is committed to the greater Fukuoka community by practicing and educating best sustainable practices for continued positive impact on our community, our country, and our world.

Keeping in lock step with these beliefs and for the first time ever in Spring Festival history; the festival will be a zero-plastics event. Single-use plastics will not be used unless it is required for the safety and security of the attendees.  Such ambitious measures have been made possible thanks to partners like Havary's Natural Water. The Spring Festival will eliminate the use of single-use plastic bottles.

Other steps include bamboo cups donated by Nishijin Drink, our main stage backdrop being decorated using reclaimed plastic and fabric waste; as well as our very own FIS grade 5 students sharing a message about sustainability and eco-responsibility. Make sure to catch their message at the mainstage around noon !

There will be recycle stations where attendees can dispose of their plastic items that are inadvertently brought into the festival.
