Encouraging a spirit of cohesiveness

The mission of the FIS Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is to enhance and support the FIS experience for our students and families.

Although the Executive Committee serves as the PTA's administration, all FIS parents and guardians of students are automatically members of the PTA and are responsible for its success, supporting the PTA through an annual membership fee. 

The PTA is a volunteer-run organization and are always looking for parents to get involved (particularly through volunteering at events). Some of the events the PTA runs or contributes resources towards each year include: Halloween trick-or-treating, Japan Day, the Winter Concert and Talent Show, Senior Graduation, and of course the Spring Festival (a large-scale multi-cultural celebration that draws a crowd from FIS families and our surrounding community). The PTA also hold a number of meetings throughout the year. All FIS parents are invited and encouraged to attend PTA meetings to share their ideas, concerns, and experiences.

With vibrant and engaged families currently representing 30+ countries, the PTA is a valuable social network for FIS families.
