Greetings

For the city of Fukuoka, which aspires to develop as the gateway to Asia, it is crucial to establish an infrastructure for foreign residents. Among other resources, providing complete educational facilities for their children is indispensable. So in 1990 Fukuoka International School was established with the assistance of the local government, businesses, education circle and international exchange associations. Today, Fukuoka International School is an essential part ofthe infrastructure for the international city of Fukuoka. FIS is officially accredited by WASC and the International Baccalaureate so that the programs we provide are at a global standard. Our graduates are qualified to compete for acceptance admission to overseas universities.
Additionally in 2003, FIS was also accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as an educational institution authorized by an international appraisal body so that the graduates are qualified to take admissions tests for colleges/universities in Japan. This means that students are exempted from Certificate for Students Achieving the Proficiency Level of Upper Secondary School Graduates (former University Entrance Qualification Examination) when applying for Japanese universities.
While following an international curriculum, students participate in community service activities such as light work at vocational centers or socializing with elderly people at daycare facilities. Contributing to the community and meeting people at those facilities fosters empathy.
Therefore we sincerely ask for your support for children who learn here in Fukuoka and will play an active role on the world stage.
As you may know, it costs a great deal to implement international school education programs and maintain school facilities. Therefore it would be greatly beneficial if we could have your kind support. Thank you in advance for your consideration and support.
